SOLUTION
Nigerian Distributor Long-Term Cooperation Project
- Project Location: Port Harourt (Rivers State), Nigeria
- Project Background and Client Pain Points: Nigeria faces frequent power grid outages, aging infrastructure, and an imbalance between power generation supply and demand, resulting in high diesel generator costs. The client needs to meet the unconventional voltage requirements of local households and businesses, while demanding stable product quality and controllable delivery cycles
- TSTY Solution: Upgrade and adapt products to the local market, customizing dedicated transmission and distribution equipment; ensuring delivery cycles through shift-based production, and providing long-term stable supply to support the upgrading and transformation of the local urban power grid.
- Core Equipment Configuration: 100/200/300/400/500/750/1000kva 11&33/0.4KV all-copper oil-fired transformers
- Project Implementation Information: Long-term cooperation established since 2021, with regular annual supply.
- Order Amount: Over 20 million RMB annually (supplying to the Nigerian National Grid)

Nigeria's Electricity Market Situation
Nigeria is Africa's largest economy and most populous country, but its power infrastructure is severely lacking. The national power grid loss rate exceeds 30%, creating a huge demand for distribution transformers. However, the local market is flooded with refurbished and low-quality, low-priced equipment, resulting in poor power supply reliability, and customers have virtually no concept of brand names.
A Nigerian power company, established in 2015, primarily engages in power engineering contracting and electromechanical equipment trading. The founder and general manager, Mr. Mabrouk, has over 15 years of experience in the power industry, having supplied distribution cabinets and cables to several state-level power companies in Nigeria. The company has a team of approximately 30 people, including 8 technical personnel.
Prior to 2020, he primarily sourced 11kV/33kV oil-immersed transformers from Turkey and India, but frequently encountered the following problems:
Uncontrollable delivery time: From order placement to sea freight customs clearance, it generally took 4-5 months, leading to project delays and penalties.
Inconsistent quality: Some transformers arrived with losses far exceeding the nominal values, and some even showed oil leaks.
Nearly zero after-sales service: Repairs were only possible by the transformer itself, causing a sharp decline in customer trust.

Starting with the first order
In May 2020, Mabrouk placed a small trial order: 5 sets of 11kV oil-immersed distribution transformers (250kVA~630kVA) for a small community power distribution upgrade project in the suburbs of Lagos.
We provided these 5 sets of transformers with services far exceeding industry standards:
Technical matching: Customized to the local Nigerian grid voltage level (11kV/0.415kV) and frequency of 50Hz, and adapted to the commonly used Dyn11 connection group.
Fast Delivery: From order placement to shipment, it took only 25 days, and a total of 75 days including sea freight and customs clearance to reach the customer's warehouse, nearly twice as fast as European suppliers.
Full Assistance: Our technicians provided video guidance to local electricians to complete pre-installation inspections and power-on operations.
After the project was successfully energized, Mr. Mabrouk was very satisfied and placed two more orders that year, bringing the total purchase amount to over 2 million RMB. For the next two years, Mabrouk maintained a stable annual purchase volume of 3-5 million RMB, with products widely used in community power distribution networks, small factories, and commercial buildings in southwestern Nigeria.
Regional Agency Agreement Signed
After two years of collaboration, in January 2023, we officially signed the "Nigeria Regional Agency Agreement" with Mabrouk, authorizing them to sell our full range of 11kV and 33kV oil-immersed distribution transformers, photovoltaic step-up transformers, and related equipment in Nigeria. We also provided more competitive agency discounts, project reporting protection, and on-site training by technical experts twice a year. After the cooperation agreement was signed, Mabrouk's performance began to grow at an annual rate of 25%, and now its annual sales exceed 20 million.
